It feels like an out-of-place statement, ascribing some sort of intent beyond the framed meta.<p>Consensus seekers like to maximize their personal benefits, which is capitalism of a different kind. Consensus, even in this situation, doesn't always result in a different decision than what the outcome seekers are after. When there's alignment, everyone wins (in a sort of Nash equilibrium). This is what makes meetings so useful. The momentum is always toward the maxima.
