Chrome DevTools AI sends source code to Google

3 pointsby bhouser6 months ago
"Chrome DevTools uses the console message, associated stack trace, related source code, and the associated network headers as input data. When you use Understand this message, Google collects this input data, generated output, related feature usage information, and your feedback. Google uses this data to provide, improve, and develop Google products and services and machine learning technologies, including Google's enterprise products such as Google Cloud." https://developer.chrome.com/docs/devtools/console/understand-messages#data-use
Am I the only person who finds this outrageous? When I'm developing this will include source maps. With Chrome DevTools, it will be trivial to accidentally breach one's employment contract by sending the unminified source code to Google.

Best I can see the experimental "AI Innovations" features "Console Insights" and "AI Assistance" are completly opt-in.
