Good to see this moving forward. I watched Viktor’s talk about it recently and it totally made sense (here’s the link: <a href="https:&#x2F;&#x2F;www.youtube.com&#x2F;watch?v=8fMFa6OqlY8" rel="nofollow">https:&#x2F;&#x2F;www.youtube.com&#x2F;watch?v=8fMFa6OqlY8</a>).<p>The Java roadmap over the past few years is really starting to pay off. They’ve managed to close a lot of the gaps with other high-level JVM languages (like Scala, Clojure, and Kotlin) while still keeping backward compatibility. It’s brilliant that you can slip these newer bits into a 10-year-old codebase without any major issues.
