Hi,
Taking into account current state of AI and the fact that it is harder and harder for ordinary captchas to really distinguish between bot and human I was thinking about idea of creating video captchas were people will need to use camera and show something on camera to prove that they are real humans. What do you think about such idea?
Best, Wiktor
Compared to what there is now, it might be OK as long as it doesn't further slow down users who don't have broadband.
So some real-world testing would be called for if there is not data already.
When you think about it, this could very well be the most accurate way to discern that a real human had reached the web address.
By how quickly they disengaged before following through to the encumbered web page itself.
This will do nothing to prevent captcha solving sweatshops.
You will be dependent on AI to assess whether the human on camera is a real human, correct? Why won’t this become an arms race?
And yes, this would be enshittification.
