IRS to Seek Identities of U.S. Taxpayers Who Participated in the "Gig Economy"

I would support this if I thought the IRS was going to go after the companies that treat their employees as independent contractors, but that's not likely to happen for a while.

That seems... Pretty normal?<p>I mean, it falls within what the IRS has been legally tasked to do and know, the information request (demand?) has gone though the courts, and I don&#x27;t see how &quot;with a computer&quot; makes it different than stuff that&#x27;s been going on for a long time.

Spend tax payer money to squeeze pennies out of thousands instead of checking the pockets of the billionaires.
