If you start going around talking about computer systems as literally alive (as I do, from time to time), I think you’ll at least find that <i>other</i> people find this perspective interesting (mostly disbelief/heresy, as if you told somebody 200 years ago that there was no god).
This post sets the bar of being alive so low that even self-reproducing patterns in Conway's game of life would meet it.
