I grew up in Park City and didn't leave until after college. There has always been friction between the owners of the resorts and its workers. PC has always been expensive and workers have never been able to afford to easily live there going back to the 80's.
But the one great thing they have always had is youth season passes for anyone in Utah schools. They were $100 and $300 for college students. They still have them to this day but not sure on price.
Ski Patrol was always done by guys wanting to get discounts on season passes. Me and my friends used to stress about what we would do after college to afford a season pass. None of us wanted to become Lifties so we would all say we would just become Ski Patrol.
Park City was always crowded during Christmas break. Long lines on the choke point lifts was normal going way back.
