Due to the end of funding, we’re seeking an organization to adopt ~90 mobile air quality (PM2.5) sensors. Designed for urban air quality studies, community science, and educational projects. We’re prioritizing groups that can take 20+ units but are open to splitting among a few committed organizations. Previously, the cost per sensor was $200 (+shipping) to cover for the raw cost of components, assembly, etc. Given the current situation, we are however open for discussions to ensure these sensors find suitable homes where they can have the greatest impact.
More details:
- Project home [1]
- Example project approach/results [2]
- Example air quality map of Kigali [3]
[1]: https://www.open-seneca.org/
[2]: https://pub-2ff142b84818402d92cea35b93ba5064.r2.dev/open-seneca_lisbon-stockholm-2021-update.pdf
[3]: https://maps.open-seneca.org/city/kigali
Hi there! I am running a project with United Nations ESCAP on air pollution in urban areas on southeast asia. We are looking for a solution for mobile air quality sensors, and are enthusiastic about this opportunity. How can we speak further?
Are these sensors still installed or have they been retrieved from where they were colocated? With funding, is it possible to leave them in place so they can continue to collect data (https://explore.openaq.org/)?
