I can't help, but get generated vibes from the photos of the team. It just might be the focus of the camera, alongside my lack of trust for any images I see online these days!
Upon opening the URL I got a Wordpress install wizard: https://liberux.net/wp-admin/install.php
Did the site crash/reset/got hacked?
Where's the link to their git repository?
Having physical switches for various sensors sounds nice, as does 32GB of RAM. It would be more useful (for use with LLMs) if the SoC had an NPU.
Another one, which is good.
Although I am curious about general battery life.
The single most problematic issue is obviously app availability, for example no access to classic dating apps.
I have to admit it would be nice if Google could give access to their app store to those sorts of phones, but obviously they are never going to do that.
Seems this got the hn hug of death (wp install screen after this was working?), but couldn't find any info about a 3.5 headphone jack, if it can get a micro sd card or if it battery is removable - because the linux phone I've been waiting for has all of those three.
Unfortunately, the Linux phone I've been waiting for has to have a top-notch camera. So I'll sadly be waiting a long time unless I want to lug around an extra device just for photos.
Price?
Edit: Ah, it's starting at $2k.
USBC has DP support (not sure how anyone is still making phones OR tablets without that, but here we are)
I would buy this if it was done, but I have been bitten by crowdsourcing campaigns too many times to chance it.
I am contemplating a simpler solution: dumb phone for daily drive + whatever low end smart phone for banking/authentication/corp shit.
Much cheaper.
How dooes this compare with the libre phone?
https://puri.sm/products/liberty-phone/
Looks like liberux has some better specs at the expense of some core security features.
