PSD isn't just a proprietary file format, it's practically a case study in how to make a bad file format. (Contrast that to PDF which represents advanced thinking for the mid-1990s)<p>I'd add that AI features in 2025 are often "value subtracted"; I still believe the Adobe PDF reader is the best in the business, and I regularly use the AI in Photoshop for touching up images [1] and I even use the "editing" features on Desktop acrobat but I don't see mobile as a place to do anything more than view images, and popover and other ads for AI are an unwanted distraction.<p>Where I work we have a tough policy on AI privacy, we have contracts with certain providers and are setting up an inference server on premise but we're not allowed to use just any AI product at work just because it is nagging us.<p>[1] great at adding another row of bricks to the bottom of an image or making some unwanted text go away, but try to erase an ugly car from an image and it wants draw... another car
