While I disagree with Ed Zitron's opinion that we are at 'peak AI', I do completely agree with his other points, especially the points he was making that OpenAI and Anthropic had no incentives to make things more efficient and therefore they were just drinking from the money hose. If anything it is shocking that nobody had done what DeepSeek did earlier. Good for them.

I read the whole post. And agree with a good part of it, the thing is that it looks very likely that the big tech companys are going to try and bluff, in full public view........., "we did it !we did it!, AI for the masses" headlines starting next week.1/3 of all venture capital is going into ai. Not that its going to work, but the only hope for the techno fachist dream world, is to try and move the schedules up, and bluff. The problem is that the techno faschists are hypesters, and bluffing, is a much cooler game that is all about posture. Thats how we got HERE, China, just bluffed ,down, and were sandbagging, crying "unfair , trade practices" and going to the WTO, and will continue to bluff, convincingly, cause the naritive is that they cant inovate, stuff like stealth fighters, chips, and software. China is very pragmaticaly, playing the hand they were delt.

Bit of a bloated post. Seems to restate the general point at least once per paragraph (of which there are far too many), including some vaguely related tid-bit.
