Interesting but I don't think I'd consider most of these languages rare.<p>Kurdish: >26mil speakers, Swahili: >150-200mil speakers, Cebuano: >20mil speakers, Xhosa: >10mil speakers, Yoruba: >45mil speakers, etc.
