Is anyone else annoyed by the recent changes to the android YouTube app where tapping on a video now dumps you into tiktok mode, where swiping up plays the next video instead of un-hiding the back button? Or frustrated that now to get a video into full screen mode you now need to first hit the "small-screen" button to get to the video details page, before you can finally tap the "full-screen" button? Or noticed that seemingly to ease the pain of viewing landscape videos, there is now 3x more portrait content, and the option to "show less shorts" has magically disappeared?<p>Where are the YouTube product managers? What are your OKRs? Was the assumption that if tiktok was banned people would put up and forget long form content ever existed?<p>For one I'm now using Firefox mobile, but my guess is that the web UI is also due for a lobotomy. Guess it's time to move on to more specialized platforms. Reminds me how google news was once good, does anyone still use that?
