Firing of USFS workers raises concerns about wildfires in Oregon, the West

I'm a Forest Service voluntary camp host. I think that one Seasonal Technician that I work with is typical. Five days a week she cleans bathrooms and collects garbage bags from bear-safe deposit boxes. During a fire she does radio-comminations for fire-fighting teams. When she is unavailable, I do the bathrooms. It's not a bother, but it is an example of how the Forest Service is a widely interconnected system. Many things are connected to something else one way or another. Musk knows this. He's an engineer. He knows that you can't just pull parts out of a functioning system. He's not fighting waste, he's attacking government and wrapping it in pretense.
