My son's school got a lot of national level attention for a "ban".
Really though the rule is that if a teacher sees it, they take it and it goes to the office. You can pick it up at the end of the day, after the 3rd occurrence your parents have to pick it up + you sit for a talk with the principal.
It was like magic, phones suddenly not out, disruptions way down.
>meaning that almost all children aged between seven and 16-17 will be required by law not to bring their phones into school
This seems a bit overbearing and absurd to me. Phones are a tool, there will be poor and good uses of them. Just banning them outright based on age and etc seems like it doesn't really address a larger issue.
Also ... I know of no magic that makes people 18+ more capable at using them.
