Google Completes Manifest V2 Extension Phase-Out for All Chrome Users

Obviously, the main point of this is to disable adblockers, I've understood. But can anybody tell me what actual benefits is the user going to see from this manifest? Are all extensions secure now, or can they still sell all my data to anyone?
