Hello HN, I am strongly considering searching for a new job. I am aiming towards .NET/Azure backend positions, as this is where I have the most experience.
The problem I've noticed with myself is that I always fumble the first two or three interviews. This wasn't a huge deal back when I was last applying to a job, but now there's significantly less offers out there so I don't think this is a good strategy and I'd like to prepare better. I've also been promoted to senior engineer and I've never applied for my current position, so I am also extra anxious about the type of questions I might be getting.
I am looking for a high quality resources that would help me prepare for an interview. Anything in any format is welcome. I've been trying to search on my own but it's quite difficult with all the SEO spam and clickbait youtube videos. Any recordings of actual interviews or list of actual tasks and questions given during these interviews would be quite valuable to me.
So far I've had some success with asking ChatGPT for a mock interview. I usually list all the technologies and skills I'd like to be interviewed on and ask for the format to be "one message = one question". It has worked rather well, as it is able to point out mistakes and provide additional context to my answers.
Any help and suggestions are appreciated.
