I think it’s different to move fast in terms of your product vs. moving fast in terms of your tooling and equipment.<p>The article rightly points out that for most companies, there is simply no need to move to SQL Server 2022, the 2019 suffices and has LTS for another five to six years.<p>Infrastructure should be boring, tools should be boring . The more boring they are, the better support they usually have, the more stable they are.

Upgrades are always a risk. The more important the system, the more important having a cautious and go-slow approach is.
