would be cool if some domain guru could enlighten us on the truth<p>From my point of view this will never happen. If there are 100000 people being charged for domains companies will find a way to continue doing so

I think it makes sense retiring a TLD for a soveregin state dissolved 34 years ago. This wouldn&#x27;t be the first time a TLD has been retired and probably not the last.
