Even if they're confident that Intel can't or won't enforce their old trademark, "Core 2 Duo" has to be up there on the scale of unnecessarily un-Googlable names.
Very exciting! I've since left the Pebble ecosystem for Garmin/Withings but I have always had a very fond and memorable experience wearing Pebble watches.
I don't love the color of the Core Time 2, but it sounds like there will actually be 3 colors (black/white/other), and they will be finalized later this year. [1]
Fingers crossed for gunmetal!
1: https://ericmigi.com/blog/introducing-two-new-pebbleos-watch...
I know this is intended to be a one-off thing, but also holding onto a sliver of hope that this is successful, and RePebble goes on to make more devices in the future.
But even if that doesn't happen, having a new Pebble that will hopefully last a few years or more will be a victory! All my original Pebbles are quite beat up or have hardware issues (failing P2 buttons :'( )
My Fitbit died recently. Have been living without watch now and coping. I was thinking maybe they will do some test patches before going official, so I could jump on board already, but now I got stable release and just need to wait. Near perfect timing. Probably will go with Core Time 2.
Names are weird though, who cares :D
got myself the Core 2 Duo - other one was a tad too big for my taste, also I enjoyed the idea of having a compass and barometer for hiking. pity about the lack of HR sensor on it, though.
