Hacker News,
Jake Seliger’s story inspired new laws. New Hampshire is voting on a new bill HB701 that would make clinical trial access easier for terminal patients and massively expand right to try laws for the dying. Please lend your support by emailing members of the NH health committee before they vote tomorrow. Opposition is pushing hard, claiming that it’s more “dignified” to choose for patients and just let them die instead of helping move scientific progress forward, as Jake wanted to do.
To read more about the bill, links are available on his wife’s published testimony, although the link to show support before the hearing is closed. Please email the reps instead if you can: https://open.substack.com/pub/bessstillman/p/the-seliger-act-testimony-for-a-new?r=16l8ek&utm_medium=ios
Reps to email:
elephantsmarching@msn.com
