Tax/legal checklist for a subscription and revenue sharing model?

4 pointsby didericisabout 2 months ago
I'm working on a project where I'd like to have each user pay a subscription, and then reward certain users a portion of the net subscription revenue based on how many other users view their content. I do not intend to edit or audit their content.
I have no personal knowledge of the taxes or legal considerations involved in mass user payments, and would like to get a product out and experiment with different kinds of features and monetization strategies before investing in any kind of legal/tax consultation, which I can't afford (unless it's very cheap).
As of right now, I'm assuming I need:
1. a content agreement (don't upload illegal/copyrighted things) 2. a revenue sharing agreement 3. a liability agreement (if the payment processor screws up or you give me incorrect info, not my issue)
I'm planning on supporting venmo and btc/lightning, and am the only person on the project (and am planning on doing all the tax/payment stuff myself).
Is there anything important I'm missing to protect myself, and are those legal agreements simple enough to set up via a service (or for cheap with a lawyer)?
I'm assuming yes/this is all pretty straightforward, but I figured this is a good place to ask about any sharp edges/experiences.

Which country is your company based in? And which countries are you selling your services to?
Legal/tax things are always different in every country. B2C also makes things a lot more complicated. Overall, lots of sharp edges to look out for.
