If China, Japan and South Korea ever reconciled their significant historical issues and political differences and co-operated at a level similar to Europe it would be world altering if incredibly unlikely.<p>I don&#x27;t understand what the US gains by putting them in a room together and giving them a common enemy.

That these kinds of alliances, along with the completely pointless enmity being created between the U.S and its European Nato allies, and Canada (Seriously, Canada even?) are all happening, speaks volumes about the sheer shortsighted ineptitude of the Trump administration.<p>This whole clown show reminds me of the old joke about Chairman Mao &amp; followers reaching the edge of a cliff, then taking a Great Leap Forward: Self destructive ego creating its own inertia despite the obvious evidence of a stupid path taken.
