I really hope this person is wrong. My son is too young now, but I can't wait to take my son to the movies... A lot, when he's old enough. I've thought about building a theater room at home, but "going to the movies with friends" seems like such a formative experience, it's super sad to me if it's gone.

This is such crap. It&#x27;s just like the Replit CEO saying that software engineering is dead, or Altman saying AGI is imminent. They&#x27;re stating a version of the future that they would like to appear because that would be the best outcome for their businesses.<p>But in reality movie theatres are in no way dead. People like the experience of going to a theater with friends, buying yummy snacks, watching a giant screen with really high volume. Seeing the interstellar relaunch last winter reminded me of just how LOUD the movie is, that&#x27;s something you just can&#x27;t get with 99% of setups people watch movies on at home.
