This is a nice little article. The doula doesn&#x27;t have any hidden agenda, and the regrets she identifies are entirely credible.<p>I would just posit this: If you have reached mature adulthood (not necessarily &quot;old&quot;) and are someone who regularly sets aside time for a healthy kind of introspection, then the regrets you will have at the end of your life will be quite similar to the regrets you have <i>now</i> about how you are living your life.

They say you never reach the end saying &quot;I wish I had spent more time at the office&quot;.<p>I wonder if that&#x27;s true. At least, I could see somebody spending the last months of their life complaining that they had run out of money, and that their lives would have been so much better if they&#x27;d been richer.<p>It would be great if we knew of a thing that fulfilled our souls while also preventing our bodies from starving. Unfortunately, even the upper-middle-class don&#x27;t know when they can stop working and just coast on their money -- and most don&#x27;t really know what their &quot;true calling&quot; would have been.
