The only hope here, is that it will not happen.<p>But cutting a mission like Nancy Grace telescope that has been in the works for &gt; 10 years, 1 year before launch and on budget is peak idiocy. I know people who spend years on this mission, and I can only imagine how they feel.<p>Obviously rational arguments won&#x27;t work with this administration. Let&#x27;s hope that the self-interested people in congress who have various space-related institutions&#x2F;firms in their constituencies will lobby for the changes, but I don&#x27;t have high hopes.

This looks pretty bad. I was naive enough to expect that the pro-Elon faction would cancel useless garbage like Artemis and Starliner, but they instead go after the actual science programs?
