The UK isn't part of the EU. As an American, if I were looking to launch a startup in Europe, I'd prefer a country that's part of the EU. The Netherlands seems like a strong contender due to its strong startup ecosystem, central location, government support, and a highly educated workforce. Being part of the EU offers access to a large market, funding opportunities, and ease of movement across member states.<p>Going from America to the UK seems like a marginal improvement, whereas going from America to the EU seems more like a significant improvement.
