An exciting back and forth is documented on techmeme. https://www.techmeme.com/250420/p10#a250420p10

The government’s defense and cyber-defense are highly focused on attacking immigration and DEI, firing senior and expert employees, practically begging for a crippling attack on the entire U.S. internet, water and power plants and top-level government communications. (Starlink and signalgate, anyone?)
Military defense is similarly compromised by purges and a focus on eradicating DEI.
This greatly increases the chance of a major disaster, which would have the consequence of a declaration of martial law, something that nobody wants. Except one.
I advocate refocusing cyber and military defense on real established threats instead of imaginary ones, and the same goes for the hallucination called “trade imbalance”

pg on X (formerly Twitter):
"It's a very exciting time in tech right now. If you're a first-rate programmer, there are a huge number of other places you can go work rather than at the company building the infrastructure of the police state."
https://x.com/paulg/status/1913338841068404903
