The end result of that bug report from last spring is that the PEP (which is a proposal, and not the primary documentation) does not describe the actual implementation. The PEP will be clarified when someone gets a chance.<p>This is nothing at all as serious as the bug reporter first thought, and the title of this HN post comes from that (somewhat scary) first impression and not the final resolution.
