I was hoping this would be an article about a <i>real</i> Google Graveyard...not for people! but for code. What <i>do</i> large companies like Google do when they kill projects? Surely they don't just rm -rf * the entire machine and repurpose it - do projects like this get archived, and if so, who maintains those archives and why?
Only now I realised they shut down Google Code Search. I tried searching something in an Open Source project recently. The search box on Google Code was still there, but it always returned 0 results... It's quite annoying when they just remove a feature and the only way you find out is by browsing Hacker News.
There should be a tomb for Google.cn
They abandoned probably more than 100 million users when they shut it down.
Google should grow up and learn to deal with complexities of the real world and do some real good instead of sticking to some vague motto.
