They could have considered a four letter domain and a two letter top level, if they had to have a length of 7 characters.<p>Even so... 'netprint.io' anyone? Would make a bit more sense than 'lob.com'. If they did actually purchase 'lob.com' from someone else, they could have cut the price they paid down to $50 or so if they found 'netprint.io' acceptable (Which is actually available at the time of writing this).

4. to throw (something) slowly in an arc.<p>Unless there is something i'm missing, this seems like a really dumb domain name for this type of company.
