Goal:
Our goal at hackerrank.com is to build an engaging platform where as many programmers in the world hang out to solve interesting CS real-world problems across different domains and have fun.
We're just getting started with some really good AI & Machine learning challenges from simple to real-world.
Early proof:
We have got over 10k active hackers on our site every month with a growth rate of 20-30% month over month with each one solving at least 4 problems every month in AI & ML (the two domains that are live on the site)
Your role:
We're hiring a Product Manager to focus on two important metrics - Engagement (time spent and interaction) and Retention (reducing churn).
We listen to our users a lot and been doing a bunch of experiments on our site - launching functional programming tracks, coding contests sponsored by companies (eg: hackerrank.com/quora), good set of gamification techniques (hackerrank.com/interncup), etc.
Impact:
There are thousands of programmers every day solving challenges and having fun. Imagine if you grew this number by 10x or say, 100x? This will be the most powerful site to build on the internet - a place every single problem solver (programmer, mathematician, PhD's, professors, etc.) come to solve a real-world problem, contribute to a discussion or provide an interesting technique to solve and many more.
About you:
>You have coded extensively in the past (or continue to) and have built consumer facing apps or products
>You understand the way programmers think and know what they enjoy and able to translate ideas into how it should reflect on the website
>Explicit mention of some of the earlier products you've worked on - what changes you made and how they affected the business value
>You are very numbers obsessed and the first thing you wake up to is an analytics dashboard.
>You are able to code up little things/changes you want on the site and not disturb the developers for quick changes.
If you're looking to join a young and an exciting team in Mountainview backed by YC, Khosla Ventures, Jawed Karim and more.. e-mail about your profile hackers [at] hackerrank
