The authors barely responded to arguments about the immortality of the way animals are treated in most farms. They mainly just referred to the people they disagree with derisively and talked about how lucky those people are to not worry about starving. I'll grant that they, in passing, mentioned that gestation crates prevent pigs from fighting.<p>Their statement that they are able to produce more food for cheaper is a given. It's also a little silly in light of how inefficient meat production is.<p>This isn't the type of article that actually changes anybody's mind about anything.
