Padlet (padlet.com), a YCombinator and Imagine K12 backed company, is looking for its first engineer (employee #1 if you will).
At Padlet we are making an online version of paper, an extremely simple way to put and share stuff on the Internet. We already have hundreds of thousands of users in over 200 countries (yup, we have users in Mongolia!). We are venture funded and growing fast. We have been called the next Tumblr, the next Google Docs, and even the next Twitter.
There are, of course, a gazillion startups looking for engineers. You can pick any and you'll do well in life. So WHY PADLET? Besides all the bells and whistles of every single startup these days (a.k.a 'unlimited' vacation + choose your own workstation + be your own boss etc), here is what's good about us:
- Actually generous equity. Much, much more than an average Bay Area startup, particularly considering how successful the company already is.
- We're solving an important problem - making it easy for each and every person to put stuff on the Internet. It's something your grandmom can use. People are using us at work, in schools, at home, and even in police stations. Padlet is the first software ever used by a group of refugee kids in Australia. Making software for such an audience is difficult but rewarding. It also means you may have to explain to some users what it means to "Copy & Paste".
- All of our tremendous growth has been organic. We've proven that people really want our product. Search for "padlet" on twitter to see what we mean. This also means we don't talk about social media or email newsletter strategy. We just focus on building an awesome product.
- We do crazy things like coding on a train from San Francisco to Portland (and even getting pizza delivered to the Sacramento station to satisfy late night munchies).
- We're post-traction, post-revenue, and have exceptional investors. Yet we are tiny in size. If you ever wanted to run and grow a company but founding one wasn't your cup of tea, Padlet is perfect for you.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Good sense of humor
- Honesty, Humility, Hard Work (look ma, alliteration)
- Impressive past or current projects (Open Source contributions or otherwise). We don't really care what languages/platforms you have used before but we definitely prefer those who have full-stack web and/or mobile development experience.
- Good sense of humor
TO APPLY, email us at imgood@padlet.com with whatever you'd like us to know. Bonus points if you include a fun hackathon idea in your email. We are based in San Francisco but open to hiring anywhere in the world (this includes the ISS).
--
Love, laughter
The Folks at Padlet
p.s. If you already have your dream job, please pass this on to someone you admire.
