Asseta (YCS13) is a marketplace for used manufacturing equipment.<p>Background:<p>Imagine what people did with their unused items before eBay and Craigslist. You could have a yard sale, take it to a pawn shop or most likely, just let it sit in your garage. This is what the world is like for manufacturers. If they want to buy or sell used equipment they have to work with brokers, the pawnshops of our industry. Dealing with these brokers is a huge pain for manufacturers, and we want to solve that pain with technology.<p>Mission:<p>Our goal is to lower the barrier of entry into hardware. Anyone considering starting a hardware company has to face the huge burden of purchasing capital equipment. It’s why 95% of the startups on this website create software. Imagine the effect of providing reliable access to capital equipment at 10%-20% of the new price.
