Ask HN: How do I bring in a co-founder 18 months later?

1 pointsby mcgeadydabout 11 years ago
Hi!
I've invested 18 months of my time and $30k into a startup (wyldsson) that is beginning to make some serious progress.
Could just bring in employees now, but they don't have the same commitment as a founder. So I probably do need to bring someone in as a co-founder... with some sort of vesting arrangement, so that someone I bring in has skin in the game?
I'm not drawing a salary, so I guess that they shouldn't either, right? And I'm going to have to dip into my pockets to fund working capital and future growth so they should chip in too I guess?
What would Paul Graham say about all this?! I guess he would be all in favor of bringing in a cofounder? How would he structure it though?!!
Dave
