So I was having a conversation with a coworker about people who are willing to work hard to solve a problem vs. those who will pawn off work. A common thread we found was those that were willing to just dig in and get their hands dirty with code or shitty docs, were those that literally got their hands dirty in a past job or hobby.
Maybe there is something to be said about that, I dunno. Just seemed to us that those who used to build houses, play with high voltage, do any sort of plumbing, auto repair, work on a farm, etc. before coming into IT seem to understand that you can't half ass shit. Because in our past life, half asses can lead to injury or death.
Anybody think there is any truth to this or way to prove this?
