Join Clara Labs (YC S14) – Help Machines Cheat on the Turing Test

1 pointsby akilianover 10 years ago
What we're doing
Clara Labs is building the first artificially intelligent employee. For the past nine months, we've built a system that supplements machine intelligence with human contextual awareness to support our first task: scheduling meetings. Clara already handles complex email-based coordination and scheduling for executives, recruiters, and sales teams at companies like Stripe, ZenPayroll, Heroku, Mattermark, and AngelList.
How we're doing it
Our software distributes the most complex natural language processing questions to human contractors, while automating the parts of the work a machine can grapple with on its own. This human-machine combination works well, but also presents some interesting challenges:
1. Reliability: How do you architect a distributed human-machine system whose reliability must be very high?
2. Interaction: The foundational relationship between humans and AI is yet to be designed; how do you establish a virtual relationship that feels intimate and natural?
3. Operations: How do you build the infrastructure to manage a distributed workforce of thousands?
Who we are
We're a small team working from the Mission in San Francisco. We like productive debate, reading (especially about intelligence), and care deeply about creating truly great products.
What we're looking for
We care about authenticity, thoughtfulness, and work ethic. We're looking for early team members to help us build the core of the company - engineering, operations, design, sales, and support.
Interested in learning more?
