In my previous workplace, the organization was big on agile methodologies. We have dedicated scrum masters, certification trainings ... Some time after I left that company, I got wind the new management got rid of all scrum masters.<p>In my new company, some teams have scrum masters, some don't. In my career, I have encountered scrum masters whose effectiveness were questionable but I have also encountered 1 scrum master who was very good at his job.<p>Here is my current situation and dilemma: I am the tech lead of a team who doesn't have a scrum master. I am hesitating to ask my boss for one because I am not sure of his effectiveness. I could also fill in the role of the scrum master if I know how to become a great one.<p>If you are wearing several hats like me, what would be your advice?<p>What is your experience with scrum masters?<p>Thanks
