Especially for companies that claim shortages, this seems like it might not be a terrible bet (despite the well-known risks about people jumping ship), especially if they've been looking for a while / work in an area with too few specialists.<p>Basically, which, if any, companies hire generalist/specialist-in-other-areas developers and offer them training in a desired speciality upon hire? Who does "trainingball"?
