I was thinking the other day, if we think about MGM being a movie / media company and not a casino company, owning a 1/4 (ish) of the Las Vegas Strip, how long until tech media companies - Netflix, Amazon, we can throw Apple in there (though I don't think it's their style) throw their hats into the mix?
Spending a billion dollars to buy or build an LV casino would be no different then buying a startup for it's user base and figuring out how to make it profitable.
The same way Hard Rock hotel is based around music - a Netflix hotel could be based around movies and shows.
1: Figure out how to track and monitor people walking through and around the resort and market directly to them?
2: ???
3: profit?
