For iOS 11's App Store, "Just below the app title and icon, users will now see your app’s category rankings, star rating and additional app information." I'm wondering what other developers think about this. Is Apple trying to encourage rank bidding competition and boosting by exposing the ranking data to users? What value does it bring to users ultimately by showing the ranking? Would a user cares if the ranking is at #109 vs #99? As historically the ranking is strictly related to the amount of downloads, maybe they should use "# amount of downloads" instead of just a linear ranking numeric. It is just a very strange measure to me and could be very misleading to end users.<p>Baseline, I think it is going to be ripe for exploitation soon.
