The basic premise; Is there a search engine that can search for sights based in a specific region? For example, If I would like search for all website in NYC that included the word rubber.<p>Google maps and Bing maps do some of this. Some of this appears to be polluted by the people advertising. I would like to do the equivalent of google by (site:) search and expand it for a specific geographic region. I realize it is probably messy to assign sites to a specific location, but some of this is already being done.
