Drake has dominated much of the algorithmically generated content on Spotify, to an extreme degree, leading to widespread complaints on social media.<p>I suspect this is a combination of:
1. Poor executions of algorithms, where the output is running unchecked
2. Legal and licensing agreements with the artist which prevent Spotify manually tipping the algorithms<p>Interesting implications:
- Spotify's stock price: it's these algorithms and content that purportedly make Spotify so good<p>- As someone working in the space of ML, I grudge this misuse of algos. There's a real chance an incident like this will precipitate another "AI winter"<p>Thoughts?
