Joe Beef and the Excesses of Restaurant Culture

I really don&#x27;t like that they used Joe Beef&#x27;s name for this kind of restaurant (exclusive, expensive, and pointlessly excessive).<p>Joe Beef was the definition of a working-class hero: <a href="http:&#x2F;&#x2F;www.biographi.ca&#x2F;en&#x2F;bio&#x2F;mckiernan_charles_11E.html" rel="nofollow">http:&#x2F;&#x2F;www.biographi.ca&#x2F;en&#x2F;bio&#x2F;mckiernan_charles_11E.html</a>

I&#x27;ve only been to two of the restaurants mentioned in this article: Liverpool House and Au Pied du Cochon. They are two of my most favorite restaurants in the world, with the latter being my most favorite. I&#x27;ve never been able to get a seat at Joe Beef. I&#x27;ve heard it&#x27;s &quot;touristy&quot; now but I&#x27;d still like to experience it.

I&#x27;ve never had the chance to visit Joe Beef, but they&#x27;re brilliant.<p>Though I recall a heartfelt article from one of the owners who outlined how they had recently about-faced on their habits. They&#x27;ve gone sober and are focused on their health now and regret (not sure if that&#x27;s the right word) of the excess they imposed in the way they did.[0][1]<p>Also, Bourdain gives quite the view into the &#x27;old&#x27; Joe Beef.
