Ask YC: Your Favorite EV-DO provider? (specific to New York City & Eastern Long Island/Montauk area)

I'm considering buying an EV-DO modem so that I can work while traveling to New York: specifically Manhattan and then Montauk, Long Island. Anyone have experiences with which provider has best QoS & bandwidth out there? Verizon? Sprint? Thanks!
