Can someone explain the significance of the connection to five-dimensional black holes &#x2F; &quot;black strings&quot;? To my layman ears that sounds like a entirely theoretical construct that doesn&#x27;t actually exist. Does&#x2F; might it somehow help understanding black holes in our universe better?
