It would be great to get a notification when a comment or submission is upvoted or someone has replied to it.<p>Will it be useful - Yes/No?

This has been discussed many times and rejected.<p>I use <a href="https://hnnotify.xyz/" rel="nofollow">https://hnnotify.xyz/</a> for notifications (there are several similar services).
