What google does is disgusting, both their anti-competitive practices and their privacy issues. I block all calls to GA via ghostery, myself.<p>It's not a <i>bad thing</i> that they are moving away from GA. But what basecamp is actually doing here is recoil against the google ads 'shakedown'. They should be honest about it. It's a fine action to take and fine reason to take it. "Privacy" isn't. I mean, it might be, but in basecamp's case it isn't.
