Hey HN,
After much back and forth, I decided to get my grandma an iPad (32 GB, Wi-Fi). She's been using a cheap 7-inch tablet that I bought her, but I found the screen to be low resolution and too small, battery life to be too short, etc., so I want to get her an upgrade.
Primary use case is to facetime with the family (incl. me, who lives thousands of kilometers away) and chat with her friends (whatsapp, viber). But she also liked playing games on the old tablet (simple ones like chess, mahjong), and I want her to continue exercising her brain.
How do I best tune iOS for an older person? What to look out for when it comes to accessibility features? But also, how do I make the UX as simple as possible for her?
On the application side - what apps/games I should teach her to use? I will have about a week of time to teach her everything when I'll visit her.
Also, is there a way to make a remote connection to the iPad for troubleshooting, since I will be very far away but don't want to leave her alone with it after the initial set-up?
Thanks!
